AUG 22, 2011 - 2011 Puyehue-Cordón Caulle eruption details the eruption of the Chilean volcano complex of the same name. It's an eruption that began on June 4, 2011 - less than three full days after the June 1 partial solar eclipse, and right in one of the storm and seismic risk zones specified for this period in my 2011 World Forecast Highlights (published the year before). The thing is, this eruption probably isn't over and done with for the year. With more eclipse and SuperMoon activation coming up in the last four months of 2011, and even a near-SuperMoon new moon at the end of August, I'll be surprised if the Puyehue-Cordón Caulle complex doesn't make headlines again in the months ahead: more evacuations, more tremors, more eruptions, more globe-circling ash clouds that disrupt civil aviation.
