Website Of the Week Award ©2008 by Richard Nolle |
OCT 27, 2008 - Messenger is the website for NASA's mission of the same name, launched in August of 2004 and currently deep into its discovery of the innermost terrestrial planet, Mercury. Of course there's a wonderful gallery of photos, animations, movies and other images; including a real-time orrery that shows the current positions of the inner planets. No less intriguing are the questions that prompted the Messenger mission. (As an astrologer, I'm especially intrigued that Mercury and Earth have magnetic fields, while Mars and Venus do not. What does this mean, astronomically and astrologically?) I'm recommending Messenger not because it answers questions like these, but because it raises them.
