AUG 18, 2008 - Rudy Green Ventures is NOT an astrological website, directly. You might think it isn't astrological in any way, shape or form, directly or indirectly. After all, it's an enterprise that sells human-grade food for dogs (and donates a portion of the proceeds to local animal shelters). It's sort of like feeding your dog table scraps, if you eat really healthy food - no pizza, no fried chicken, no burgers and fries, no preservatives, etc. Just the good stuff. How astrological is that? Well, it seems pretty astrological to me right about now, for a number of reasons. For one thing, several of my clients have had beloved dogs die lately, and the emotional impact of that experience is unknowable if you're not an animal lover who has been through it. For another, a number of clients are facing one life crisis or another in the past few months, and doing it with pets. "What will happen to my dog?" can be a hugely important issue for someone facing end of life or any number of traumas - including foreclosure, which is happening more and more. Issues like these confront people every day. As an astrologer, I've encountered quite a string of them this year, and it's made me think of Rudy Green Ventures. It's an outfit that aims to make little bit of the world a little better, for some of its most dependent denizens - the dogs who love us, those fur persons who are always on the wrong side of the door. If that's not astrological, then astrology has no heart. And I know better than that.
