SEP 20, 2004 - Nova Origins is the online counterpart to the PBS four-part miniseries of the same name. Yes, it's popular science. And yes, it's taxpayer-subsidized; which really chaps my Libertarian hide. But the money's already spent, so don't let it go to waste - because this is really good stuff for what it is. And what it is, briefly, is an exploration of the beginnings of the Universe, Earth, and life itself. Yeah, there's a stupid Oprah-style poll, like it matters at all what we think. Pop schlop aside, Nova Origins lightly touches on lots of bases, cultivating a sense of our place in this marvelous universe.
