JUN 2, 2003 - Night Sky Live is what is claims to be, exactly: a live image of the night sky above some of the world's prominent observatories. Click on the observatory of your choice, and you'll get a live, 360-degree shot of the heavens captured by the onsite fisheye lens CONtinuous CAMera (CONCAM) there. Okay, there aren't a lot of observatories so equipped at present. There's the Rosemary Hill Observatory at my old alma mater in Gainesville, Florida; and the famous Kitt Peak Observatory right here in Arizona. If you're feeling really exotic, there's always the European Northern Observatory in the Canary Islands or the beautiful Mauna Kea facility in Hawaii. I'll let you find the others for yourself. Who knows, maybe you'll be watching the very moment one of them captures a new supernova - or at least a showy shooting star.
