NOV 18, 2002 - Leonid Special Report is Space.com's excellent guide to this year's Leonid meteor shower, which is expected to be the most spectacular of this century. If you're in the best seats - Europe and North America - the peak comes between midnight and sunrise on Tuesday the 19th. (Elsewhere in the world, you'll still be able to see the shower, it just won't be as thick.) Alas, as noted in my November forecast, clear skies will be scarcer than usual during this period. But there will still be enough holes in the storms to allow millions of us to witness the spectacle of Comet Tempel-Tuttle's detritus splashing across Planet Earth's orbit, so if you have a fondness for all things celestial you'll want to get out and enjoy the show. And if that's the case, then Leonid Special Report is a must-see. (Note: older Netscape browsers may not be able to navigate this site.)
