JUL 22, 2002 - StarCenter espouses "galactic astrology," which is represented by author Robert Tkoch as a state of the art alternative to traditional astrology. One difference, we're told, is that one's natal horoscope is based on the moment of one's conception rather than birth. Ah, but is this conception in the biological sense, as in fertilization? Or is it some other significant moment in one's life - perhaps a spiritually significant moment, for example? I could find no answer to this question anywhere at StarCenter. There are a few interesting essays on incorporating heliocentric and galactic perspectives into the practice of astrology, but they're lacking in the sort of depth and detail available in Rudhyar's The Sun Is Also A Star, Erlewine's Astrophysical Directions, etc. - let alone the really contemporary stuff like Philip Sedgwick's writings. Is this a growing site, that will soon fill in these gaps? Let's hope!
Technically speaking, Web Site Garage rates StarCenter fair over-all, poor in load time (22.04 seconds at 56k). By comparison, the page you're now reading rates excellent in both categories, with a load time of 5.04 seconds at 56k.
