DEC 25, 2000 - Calendar Research is way too good to miss if your interests include financial markets and anything like astrology. Christopher Carolan, who writes and researches the peculiar and at times uncanny perspectives you'll find at Calendar Research, concentrates on "the time dimension, to identify those periods of emotional excess where mob psychology is manifest in fear and greed, and changes in financial trends are more likely." Such periods, he maintains, are cyclical - and timed predictably by recurrent celestial events, as for example certain cycles of solar eclipses. While by definition this is astrology, Mr. Carolan may or may not accept that definition, and conventional astrologers may only vaguely recognize the celestial details with which he works. No matter: a rose by any other name . . . and gather ye rosebuds where ye may. Be sure to register for the free reading room - very highly recommended - and check out the research samples while you're at it. (They're all free.) Not free are subscriptions to Carolan's Calendar Research Reports. But after checking out his website or reading his book The Spiral Calendar, you might want to part with a few shekels to see if you can't get a little closer to the flame.
Technically speaking, Web Site Garage rates Calendar Research good over-all and in load time - 17.15 seconds with a 28.8k modem. By comparison, the page you're now reading rates excellent in both categories, with an 8.83-second load time at 28.8k.
