Astropro's
Website Of the Week Award ©2000 by Richard Nolle |
DEC 4, 2000 - AAAA is an acronym for the American Association of Amateur Astronomers, and their website offers plenty of free information on basic astronomy - as well as lots of info on the AAAA, of course. Astrological newbies might do well to check out the AAAA's primers on the solar system and the constellations, as a way of familiarizing themselves with some solid astronomical fundamentals - and, in the case of the page on the zodiac, some typical anti-astrology propaganda as well. Get used to it: no mind so weak that it can't stand up to criticism is strong enough to pursue astrology anyway. Be that as it may, there's plenty of wonderful information here for anyone who aims to study the night sky. And in my estimation, that makes the AAAA website a handy online resource indeed.
Technical note: Web Site Garage rates AAAA poor over-all and in load time (32.83 seconds with a 28.8k modem). In comparison, the page you're now reading rates excellent in both categories, loading in 8.90 seconds at 28.8k.
