JUL 17, 2000 - Space Weather is a NASA website which brings the cosmos home in a way that's downright astrological. What else can you call it, when stellar events impact human events? Since you can't call it astrology if you're NASA, you may as well call it Space Weather! And, like your horoscope or a conventional (meteorological) weather report, you'll want to check this one often - to get advance notice of things like the geomagnetic storm that smacked our home planet July 15. With its daily updates on sunspots, the solar wind and coronal holes, plus solar flare forecasts, Space Weather will definitely keep you posted. You can even subscribe if you like, to get the latest space weather bulletins delivered from NASA via email.
Technical note: Web Site Garage rates Space Weather fair over-all, poor in load time (70.91 seconds with a 28.8k modem). In comparison, the page you're now reading rates excellent in both categories, with a load time of 8.20 seconds at 28.8k.
