OCT 12, 1998 - Tour the Cosmos is Marc Steiner's NPR radio program, and now it's on the Web as a joint production with NASA's Hubble Space Telescope Science Institute. This is no plain vanilla website, either. It's a live event, if you happen to drop in during the two-hour simulcast starting at 12:00 PM EDT on OCT 14. That's 16:00-18:00 UT. If you miss the live simulcast, don't fret: the entire show will remain accessible on the Web, so just drop in and Tour the Cosmos! The OCT 14 Tour the Cosmos simulcast will focus on extraterrestrial life for the first hour, and the structure and evolution of the universe for the second hour. Scheduled guests are astronomers Steven Squyres, Mark Voit and Chris Burrows, and IMAX/Planetarium director Jim O'Leary. Listeners are welcome to call in or email questions for the guests during the simulcast. And of course, there will be plenty of breath-taking cosmic imagery from the Hubble Space Telescope.
