JUN 23, 1997 - Steinbrecher Astrological Data Collection is an invaluable resource for anyone seeking accurate celebrity birth data. With some 28,000 data on file, all noted as to source (many from birth certificate) and most with ample additional notes, this must be reckoned the single most complete online reference of its kind. Find the data of your choice, enter it into your astrology software, and in a flash you've got yourself a chart. (Unless you don't have a program for doing this, in which case you'll want to see the Astrology Software Section of the Astropro NetSelect Directory.) As of July 17, 1997 you don't even need an astrological program to see charts for the celebrities whose data you'll find in the Steinbrecher Collection. That's because each celeb's data page now comes complete with a button you can click on to reveal an ample natal horoscope - suitable for saving to disk or printing out as you wish. (These charts, incidentally, are produced using the Pathfinder astrology program.) In short, this is one website that definitely rates a bookmark in any astrologer's browser.

AUG 19 UPDATE This just in from Ed Steinbrecher: "Due to the overwhelming traffic for the Steinbrecher Astrological Data Collection, we're no longer able to offer it without a nominal charge. It will have an initial 144 charts as free samples for anyone to look at. Free accesss to look up names in the collection will also continue. Then, if a person is interested in continuing to obtain data, the cost is $20 for 100 by credit card." The bad news is that, at 144 freebies, the Steinbrecher Collection has gone from arguably the best free source of astrological data to one of the lesser luminaries in the no-charge category. (Astropro gives you five times that number: see the contents page.) The good news is that, if you can't find the data you want free elsewhere, the Steinbrecher Collection is probably your next best shot - albeit at 20 cents a pop. Be that as it may, this is STILL one of my favorite data resources on the Net, and I highly recommend it.
