SEPTEMBER 2019 FORECAST
©2019 by Richard Nolle
last revised August 31, 2019

If you were expecting some kind of sun sign nonsense, forget about it. This is real astrology for the real world, not some mystical mumbo-jumbo psycho-babble word salad. If it's real astrology for yourself that you want, you can get it by phone or in print. And if you need help deciphering the astrological glyphs in the graphics accompanying this article, see Astroglyphs: Astrological Symbols Guide. Please note: this forecast is expressed in terms of Universal Time (UT, aka GMT). Location for all mundane charts is set for the Great Pyramid at Giza; the choice being strictly arbitrary in any case. Also please be aware that, while I never change a forecast once it's published, I do post errata to acknowledge typographical errors and the like.

PLEASE NOTE: This month’s forecast incorporates elements of (and refers to) the complete version of my 2019 World Forecast Highlights (34 8-1/2 x 11" illustrated pages); focused, amplified and elaborated with details for the month as appropriate. The full version of my 2019 World Forecast Highlights is available in hard copy by mail ($75) or as a PDF document by email ($50). Advance orders for the 2020 World Forecast Highlights are now being taken as well: $65 for the PDF version, $85 for the hard copy. The Skinny

SuperMoon makes its curtain call for the year this month. It’s the third in a trio of Stealth (new moon) SuperMoons, occurring at 5° 20’ Libra on the 28th, within 24 hours of the southward lunar crossing of the celestial equator; and at a time when Mars opposes Lilith (the Lunar Apogee Point) in the sky, and Saturn aligns within a degree of the Moon’s south node. . Think of this as the year’s last major storm and seismic window, and you won’t be far off the mark.

There’s more to September than natural catastrophes. The man-made variety will likely be the bigger story, in fact. Jupiter’s final transiting square to Neptune for years is exact on the 21st at 17° Sagittarius-Pisces, and remains within a couple degrees of partile all month long. It’s a sure sign that deception, delusion and dementia are prominent themes throughout September – not that this is anything new, since it’s been a strong undercurrent for much of August already. It just gets more dangerous in September, under the auspices of a string of Mars aspects scattered throughout the month: conjunct the Sun on the 2nd, Mercury on the 3rd, squaring Jupiter on the 12th, and opposing Neptune on the 14th. Mars activation like this brings all things martial into increased prominence: haste, recklessness, hostility, confrontation and violent conflict . . . all with an element of stealth, subterfuge or miscalculation. More murder and mayhem, especially on or about the dates just mentioned.

2019 Stealth SuperMoon Finale

If you’re not familiar with the SuperMoon phenomenon, rather than give you a definitive backgrounder here, I’ll refer you to pages 20-25 in the full version of my 2019 World Forecast Highlights for a more complete exposition; or see my free online article on the subject. For now, I’ll just touch on the highlights.

SuperMoon is a term I created and defined in a 1979 article for Dell Publishing Company's Dell HOROSCOPEHoroscope, the world’s leading astrology magazine, describing a new or full moon (syzygy) which occurs with the Moon at or near (90th percentile) its closest approach to Earth (perigee) in a given orbit. In short, Earth, Moon and Sun are all in a line, with Moon in its nearest approach to Earth. (My most recent print article on this subject appeared in the October-November 2007 issue of The Mountain Astrologer.) Over the last several years, astronomers, meteorologists and science writers have adopted my terminology; which has spurred interest in the topic among astrologers as well as the general public. (I’m told this is the first instance since Johannes Kepler in the 17th Century of astronomers adopting a concept that originated with an astrologer.)

History and definitions aside, at the very most basic geophysical level, a SuperMoon is a type of extreme lunar alignment that is associated with especially powerful tides in the atmosphere, seas and crust of our home planet. These extremes manifest as increases in the frequency and magnitude of strong storms with high winds and heavy precipitation – and all that this entails, including flooding, property and infrastructure damage and worse. Also in the SuperMoon arcanum comes an uptick in notable seismic activity, including moderate to severe (Magnitude 5 and up) earthquakes and significant volcanic eruptions. Extreme tidal surges are the third leg of the SuperMoon geophysical tripod – sometimes these are tsunami, but more often they’re just normal tides that happen to be much higher than usual.

These geophysical manifestations of SuperMoon are only the larger, grosser expression of this alignment; the macrocosmic end of the spectrum, so to speak. The other, microcosmic end is much subtler, in the grand scheme of things. It’s an intensification of human psychological and emotional extremes. Although these sometimes make headlines in their own right, as when someone becomes unhinged and commits atrocities of one kind or another, usually we see the personal side of SuperMoon on a much more private level. We feel it in ourselves – some of us more than others – and we see it in the people around us. There’s an intensification of emotionality, for better or worse.

SEP 28, 2019 Stealth SuperMoon Typically, this is most apparent in people who were born under planetary placements at or near the degree of a particular SuperMoon – or in hard aspect to it. (Hard aspects are angles of 0°, 90°, 180° or 270°: the conjunction, waxing square, opposition and waning square, respectively.) People born under a new or full moon (including those born under an eclipse or SuperMoon) are also especially likely to go to emotional extremes during a SuperMoon. (Check the free 20th and 21st Century SuperMoon tables online at my website – astropro.com - to see if you or someone you know was born under a SuperMoon.)

The typical SuperMoon stress window is plus or minus three days of the exact date of alignment. Sometimes the shock window is extended by other solar and lunar factors, including lunar declination extremes at or near the open and close of the SuperMoon window. (Solar eclipse SuperMoons also have an extended shock window.)

Bear in mind that Earth is a dynamic planet. Powerful storms, strong earthquakes and volcanic eruptions don’t need a SuperMoon trigger – they happen with or without a SuperMoon. But they happen with notable frequency and intensity when there is a SuperMoon, as I’ve been saying for 40 years now. For example, during the geocosmic shock window predicted in my free online November 2016 forecast, there were a total of 108 M5+ quakes; an average of over 10 M5+ events per day– more than twice the daily average for all the previous year. (The total number of M5+ quakes for 2015 came to 1,556, an average of 4.26 per day.)

New and full moons - SuperMoons and eclipses included – are astronomical in scale, and planetary in the scope of their manifestations. Tides, for example, cover the whole of Planet Earth. Obviously they’re more evident along the coasts, but even the solid ground beneath our feet rises and falls to the tidal rhythms. Solar eclipses have a uniquely limited zone of visibility, but their reach extends to the whole of our home planet. Astro-locality mapping is one way to see what’s happening where – a cosmic feng shui, so to speak. For something of a primer on the subject, see the Astro-Locality section near the end of the full version of my 2019 World Forecast Highlights (pp. 32-33). For now, just consider that such a map features lines showing where the Sun, Moon and planets are rising, setting, culminating overhead and anti-culminating below at the moment of a timed event, be it a new or full moon, the birth of a person, etc. Those lines represent zones of special focus for the celestial bodies at the moment of the event in question.

SEP 28 SuperMoon Astro-Locality Map Basics aside, this month's SuperMoon is not the full moon variety; it’s a new moon. The general public is conditioned to think of SuperMoons as a full moon phenomenon, because of the spectacular images of a full SuperMoon they've seen in the media. A new moon, even if it’s a SuperMoon, is on the other hand invisible to the naked eye. The Moon and Sun are in the same spot in the sky when the moon is new, which means that the Moon gets lost in the Sun’s glare when it’s above the horizon; and it goes down below the horizon at sunset. We can’t see it, but it’s still there – and, because it’s a SuperMoon, this invisible Moon is much closer to Earth than usual. It has the same pronounced tidal pull on the crust, seas and sky of our home planet as all SuperMoon. We just can’t see it. Hence, a Stealth SuperMoon. (As the fox told the Little Prince, "what is essential is invisible to the eye.")

Like its August 1 and 30 predecessors, the Stealth SuperMoon on September 28 will not go unnoticed. It has the same tidal, storm and seismic potential as its showier and more familiar full moon counterpart. All three of this summer's Stealth SuperMoons look more than usually potent. They’re all accompanied by a fairly tight Jupiter-Neptune square, which suggests an extra measure of geophysical stress in its own right.

Bottom line: this will be the biggest storm and seismic signal for the month. Expect the usual, only even more of it than usual: extreme tidal surges, a rash of moderate to severe earthquakes (M5+), notable volcanic eruptions, and powerful storms with high winds and heavy precipitation producing local or even regional flooding. Expect to see its signal from September 25 through October 1.

While these effects are potentially global, there are a few target zones indicated in the astro-locality map for this SuperMoon. Quite a few, in fact, because there are so many points bundled into the September 30 SuperMoon picture.

For example, follow the Sun-Moon meridian lines down through central Canada and the US, skimming the western Gulf of Mexico coastline and eastern Mexico, emerging on the other side of the world to slice through eastern India, western China and Russia; also the Sun-Moon horizon lines through western Europe (including the UK), west Africa and New Zealand.

Notice also the Venus meridian line running through east central Canada, the US Midwest (right through Chicago) and Central America: big financial hits here, associated with the Venus-Saturn square. By the same token, at the other end of that aspect is the Saturn meridian through western Europe (including the UK) and west Africa.

There are in fact so many skeins tied into this celestial configuration that I’ll leave it to you to study the map for yourself.

Macrocosm, Microcosm, Collective, Individual

The tides raised in Earth’s skies, seas and crust are not the only surges to expect during this last Stealth SuperMoon shock window. There will be surges on the microcosmic level as well, both individually and collectively. In some cases the individual and collective will merge.

Donald Trump Natal Chart Collectively, The Mars factor speaks of crashes, clashes and explosions; fire and frenzy. Testosterone and adrenaline are a cruel and reckless blend, and they’re both flowing strong in the September 25-October 1 time frame – just as they were during the two August SuperMoon shock windows, as described in my forecast for that month. So get ready, get safe, watch your six. Remember: war is not the exception in civilization, it’s the norm. We’re not ready for the Big One this year, though . . .

The Jupiter-Neptune square and Saturn-Venus square chime in with all this to warn of felonious financial schemes, from daring robberies to panic in the markets – some of the latter also being schemes executed by market manipulators. Con artists abound, and there are marks aplenty. These factors also speak of significant financial losses due to natural disasters. Short the reinsurers?

And then there are the individual dimensions of this Stealth SuperMoon. Consider the degree of the lunation itself (5° 20’Libra) as one of the keys here. If you were born with planets or other significant points in the 3-6° range in any of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn), then you are in some way or other a focus for this alignment. Likewise, there’s the 16-17° range in the mutables (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces), which is activated by the Jupiter-Neptune square accompanying the SuperMoon; along with the 23-27° range in the mutables, touched off by the SuperMoon Mars-Lilith opposition. And finally, there’s the 13-18° range in the aforementioned cardinal signs, activated by the SuperMoon Venus-Saturn quadrature from Libra to Capricorn. Check your chart?

Check Donald Trump’s BC chart, while you’re at it. The SuperMoon degrees hit his natal Mercury-Neptune square; the Mars-Lilith opposition and Jupiter-Neptune square hit his natal lunar eclipse; and the Venus-Saturn square also touches off his natal Mercury-Neptune square.

In fairness, the Trump chart has been a celestial pinball machine since Jupiter-Neptune square began in January this year. Mr. Mr. Trump has always had a tenuous grip on reality, being born under a square from Mercury to Neptune. It’s completely out of bounds this year, downright delusional. And remember that Trump was born under a Mars line that passes through Washington DC and Pyongyang, North Korea.

I’m no Cassandra foretelling a World War. This year is too early for that. But there are plenty of flash points along the way this month, with all these Mars aspects: conjunct the Sun on the 2nd, Mercury on the 3rd, squaring Jupiter on the 12th, opposing Neptune on the 14th, and of course the Mars-Lilith alignment at the end of the month. The pots aren’t boiling over yet, but they’re already up to an active simmer. I venture to say that, before September is done, all but the most thoroughly brainwashed True Believers will be rethinking their commitment to the Crazy Train.

As big a problem as the Trump Regime is for the world at large, he’s not the whole story. Look again at the SuperMoon astro-locality map above, and follow the lines . . .

Odds and Ends

I haven’t given due attention to a couple other celestial shock windows this month. One is the remainder from the August 30 SuperMoon, which stretches into September 2. As predicted in my August forecast, this one has been accompanied by amazing storm and seismic activity, from the eruptions at Stromboli and Popo to a string of 18 (so far) M5+ earthquakes (including five 6+ events starting with the August 27 6.6 temblor on Bristol Island in the South Sandwich Islands, through the 6.7 on Nidoi Island in Fiji on September 1; and of course Category 5 Hurricane Damian in one of the target zones described in my August forecast: "eastern North America, the Caribbean and east central South America."

Still ahead is the September 14 full moon at 21° Pisces. It’s far from a SuperMoon-class or eclipse event, but it still ups the ante for storm and seismic activity from the 11th through the 17th. Think of it as practice for the September 28 SuperMoon: get your go bag, emergency kit and bottled water ready, just in case. And check your chart, while you're at it.
