The Skinny

July has a turning point feel to it – sometimes even a wheel slipping off the road and over the cliff feel. But there’s no crash and burn, no matter how close to disaster things may seem at times. That’s because there’s a last minute "angel on my shoulder" feel to the flow of events. That doesn’t mean that men and women of good will can simply abandon trying to bend the arc of time towards the good – only that if they do their best, the result will be better than they imagined possible. Sure, we’re coming into a SuperMoon storm and seismic surplus season on the geophysical front, and a geopolitical restructuring as well – both playing major roles in August. But for now, there remains a reason for hope – or at the very least, room for it.

The Uranus-Pluto Quadrature Lingers

The Uranus-Pluto square that was exact on March 17 remains close enough to count this month, as Mars comes to form a bridging T-Square to Uranus and Pluto from the 11th through the 23rd (at least) Regulars know what to expect: another rash of "fires, crashes, clashes and explosions." And because this takes place in the midst of the Uranus-Pluto square, there’s a social and political context to much of it. It’s not just personal clashes and crimes, as extreme as they can get (mass shootings and murder suicides, etc.). More than that, it’s demonstrations, riots, terrorism, revolution and war that breaks out at times like this. The Arab Spring is a prime example: it burst forth at the beginning of the Uranus-Pluto square in 2011, at a time of a strong Mars aspect (Sun-Mars conjunction).

What to do? Mitigate or avoid conflict as best you can, for starters. And if that’s not possible, be prepared to use overwhelming force – whatever that means to you. Be safety-conscious, stay focused on what you’re doing while you’re doing it, and watch out for "the other guy". Bear in mind that a great many people are stressed to the point of distraction at least – if not outright nihilism. And if there are fire or storm warnings, don’t hesitate to head for safety. July 12-22 comprise the highest risk period for mayhem extraordinaire during this cycle – especially within a few days either way of the 16th.

It’s easy to see what’s stressing people out the world over. Just as in the case of the Arab Spring, it’s economic disintegration. The relative security people once felt is basically gone or at least radically diminished, and desperation rises to fill the void. That’s what Uranus squaring Pluto is all about: the 99% arise in revolt against the institutions that increasingly marginalize them – against a system that would prosper just fine without them.

The Jupiter-Saturn Square

The powers that be see this, and recognize that they can’t just starve the poor to extinction – as much as it would be in their interest to do so, in purely economic terms. The plutocrats will get around to that objective later. For now, they aim to restructure the world order so as to pacify the poor enough to forestall revolution, under the aegis of the final Jupiter-Saturn square before the 2020 Trigonalis Great Chronocrator (change of element in the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction). Actually, this particular Jupiter-Saturn square happens three times, due to retrograde repeats. But the first of these is already at hand, on August 3, 2015 – and within a few degrees of exact from mid-July onward.

For now, here’s what you’ll see this month as the world below mirrors the world above: the powers that be attempt reforms and restructuring aimed at easing privations enough to make the lives of the masses more tolerable. This means subsidies in the form of jobs, mainly – which means creating enough fiat wealth to keep the gears of the economic engine turning, no matter how moribund it is in reality.

You can look back to the 1930s – the last time this world saw such a combination of Uranus squaring Pluto and Jupiter squaring Saturn – for hints as to how this will play out. It’s not a pretty picture. The wild card this time around is that Trigonalis Great Chronocrator in 2020 – something we haven’t seen in nearly 200 years. It signals the potential for a world historic change in civilization, unprecedented since the Industrial Revolution. Venus Max and the Venus-Jupiter Conjunctions

The 2015 Venus-Jupiter conjunctions – July 1, August 4 (28°35’ Leo, within a day of the 2015 Jupiter-Saturn square) and, in the last days of the 2015 Venus Max Cycle, on October 25 (15°38’ Virgo) - show that this strategy will be at least partially successful. And with Venus Max in effect all the way from June 6 to October 27 – typically a sign of better rather than worse economic conditions – I suspect that whatever disruptions occur under the aegis of the Jupiter-Saturn square will be mitigated this year. US equities and the global economy, for example, are due for a correction rather than a crash. And US equities in particular will finish 2015 higher than they began it. Looking to buy quality stocks at a discount? July and August look interesting.

Storm and Seismic Warning Signs

This month’s geocosmic shock windows – the solar and lunar periods of extra vulnerability to strong storms with high winds and heavy precipitation, as well as moderate to severe earthquakes (magnitude 5 and up) and volcanic eruptions – are centered around the July 2 and 31 full moons and the July 16 new moon; typically extending three days before and after the exact alignments. The first of these is already in effect as the month begins, extending from June 29 through July 5. The second is underway from the 13th through the 19th. And the last stretches from July 27 into August 4 (extended a day fore and aft due to lunar declination factors, including the Moon’s south declination extreme on July 28 and northward crossing of the celestial equator on August 3).

All three of these are strong storm and seismic signals – not as strong as a SuperMoon (like the one coming up on August 29), but not to be overlooked by the circumspect. The above dates are times to have your emergency kit packed and ready, your weather radio handy, and sufficient supplies to get you through a few days on your own, should there be infrastructure breakdowns due to powerful storms, flooding and/or (depending on where you’ll be at the time) moderate to severe earthquakes or volcanic eruptions.

If anything, the last period (July 27 through August 4) looks riskiest, due to a combination of lunar declination factors and the solar storm potential associated with the July 23 superior (far side) Mercury-Sun conjunction and the August 6 Mercury-Venus conjunction. These alignments are associated (plus or minus three days) with an outburst of solar storms (M and X-class flares and Coronal Mass Ejections) and increased geomagnetic activity (Kp 5 and up). However there’s a two-week delay factor associated with a superior Mercury-Sun conjunction. This time around, that means it’s in effect three days either way of August 6 the day of the Mercury-Venus alignment. Which makes August 3-9 look especially stormy on the solar front.

This much excess solar energy stirring up Earth’s atmosphere and magnetosphere has consequences direct and indirect, and you’re bound to see them. They include increased storm and seismic activity on the one hand, plus geomagnetic storms that manifest as enhanced auroral displays and disruptions in electrical and electronic systems and networks – including satellites, computers and computer networks, radio transmission and power grids. Remember: the human nervous system is electrical in nature, and many people experience increased anxiety and agitation during these solar outbursts.

All the above-mentioned alignments are astronomical in scale, and therefore planet-wide in potential. Be on the safe side wherever you’ll be on the indicated dates, just to be sure.

In Closing

Whatever messes July may bring, I’m looking to the beautiful Venus-Jupiter conjunctions that dominates the western skies at dusk as a beacon of hope, a sign of grace in the sky. Pessimism cuts off possibilities, and this is no time for that. What does it portend? A better outcome than we expect or deserve. Believe it or don’t – but it’s better to believe.
