All time and zodiacal position data are computer generated for the conjunctions of Venus and Neptune in geocentric ecliptic longitude (tropical zodiac) using Matrix's BLUE*STAR software, with nominal precision to the nearest minute of arc. NOTE: BLUE*STAR uses 0 (zero) for 1 BCE, and negative numbers for each year prior to that. Therefore 0 = 1 BCE, -1 = 2 BCE, etc.
Venus aligns in geocentric conjunction with Neptune once every 11-1/2 months or so, counting repeats due to Venus retrograding. There are 3,166 Venus-Neptune conjunctions in the 3,000 year period from 600 BCE (aka BC) to 2,400 CE (aka AD). Only 93 of these conjunctions - just less than 3% - occur while Venus is retrograde. Venus-Neptune conjunctions with Neptune retrograde are an astronomical impossibility as seen from Earth, since Neptune can be retrograde only at or near its geocentric opposition to the Sun. Because Venus is never more than about 48 degrees from the Sun as seen from Earth, it cannot be in geocentric conjunction with a retrograde Neptune - since this would require Venus being at or near 180 degrees from the Sun.
